Dirty Heads - Any Port In A Storm

Hello Thursday. Good to see you again. Thursday seemed like a good day to get to yet ANOTHER suggestion from the box. The Dirty Heads were a request from follower JenInTosa. Jen has been known in B Side circles as a Country lover, but a very highly rated recommender. She didn't let me down again this time with these fellas! I do love me some Sublime, and these guys have that reggae type rock similar to Sub. They have sort of an odd background. Just a few guys from California who decided to make some music. They released 'Any Port' back in 2008, and then re-released it in 2010 as this Special Edition with a couple extra tracks on it. That's not really industry standard. Quite odd actually. This is the explanation of how they arrived at their name, "The name comes from an occasion where the two were stealing a 12-pack of beer and had someone shout at them “Come here you little dirty heads!”". Kind of a neat story. They really give a shoutout to Sublime and lead singer Bradley Nowell in track 12. I love it. They seem to know who their influences are and on this record, stay true to form. Hopefully if they ever run a follow up, it's just a true as this one. I do seriously enjoy this record. It's a HAVE TO check out B Siders! Happy Thursday!
